Wednesday 11th: Veterans Day and Native American Dinner, 5 pm to 8pm in Residential Dining, East Neighborhood Holmes Dining Hall

Thursday 12th: Movie and Discussion We will be viewing "In the Spirit of Annie Mae" and having a discussion with Professor Patrick LeBeau in South Kedzie Hall, S105 at 6:30pm.

Friday 13th: Sherman Alexie talk at Grand Valley State University. Students will meet at North Hubbard at 4:45 and leave around 4:50. We will return to campus around 10pm.

Sunday 15th: Birch Biting Workshop Birch bark bitings are thin layers of birch bark with a design bitten into the bark with the eye tooth. The designs were originally used to create patterns for decorative work applied to traditional leather clothing. Now the art of birch bark biting is being learned by young people interested in reviving what could have become a lost tradition!

Friday 13th at 6:30pm: Annual Wiikongewin Fall Feast The Nokomis Learning Center will be hosting the annual Wiikongewin Fall Feast. Nokomis will provide a main course and visitors are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service. As always, a raffle and door prizes will follow dinner. Please contact the center in advance if you are attending so we are sure to have enough seats. Everyone is welcome. The event is free. Donationas are appreciated.

13th-14th: Grand Valley State University 34th Annual Great Lakes History Conference Friday 13 Keynote address by Sherman Alexie at 7pm in the Eberhard Center. Saturday keynote address given by Ned Blackhawk, also in the Eberhard Center at 12:45pm. Monday 30th at 6pm: Native American Student Association Event: "Noho Hewa: The Wrongful Occupation of Hawai'i" Documentary Showing Followed by Discussion with Director- Keala Kelly; MLB Auditorium 3

Monday 30th at 7pm: "Using American Indians as Mascots, Why Should They Care?" A discussion by Matthew Fletcher, Director of the Indigenous Law and Policy Center; in the Multicultural Center, Basement of the Union next to Heritage Cafe Questions: ryerseas@msu.edu
