Kabloonak The Stranger . C. Massot. 1994.

Adventure. VHS. 107 minutes. (Charles Dance, Adamie Inukpuk.)

In 1922, movie audiences in New York , London , Paris , and Moscow lined up to see Nanook of the North , an astonishing film that is the first documentary feature in cinema history. Two years earlier, American Robert Flaherty had walked down a gangplank in the far North with camera equipment, a projector, and a piano. Flaherty spent a year with the people of the tiny community, recording the humor and hardships of life in one of the world's most beautiful yet hostile environments. Kabloonak is the story of this legendary movie. Through the friendship of two men, Kabloonak captures the unforgettable collision of two worlds. (source: tape case copy)
