Transportation to Michigan State University

Airports:

The Michigan Flyer (luxury coach bus service) provides ground transportation from DTW to East Lansing, and stops at the Marriott Hotel.

Train:

  • Amtrak service from Chicago is available, but fairly limited. The Bluewater Line stops in East Lansing once a day, and the Wolverine Line stops in Battle Creek, with a bus service that continues to East Lansing, twice a day. The East Lansing Train Station is just west of campus, but far enough from the Marriott and the MSU Union that a cab is required.

Bus:

  • Greyhound Buses also arrive at the Amtrak Station in East Lansing. Additionally, there is a Greyhound station in Lansing as well.
  • The Michigan Flyer makes stops in Ann Arbor and Jackson, in addition to the Detroit Airport, if you are traveling to MSU from either of those cities.
  • CATA Buses can be used to travel around the greater Lansing area. The #14 bus connect the Capitol City Airport to the Dowtown Lansing CATA Transportation Center. From there, the #1 bus can be taken to Downtown East Lansing, and drop you off directly in front of the MSU Union. Tickets are $1 per trip.

Taxis:

Parking:

  • There is an MSU Parking Garage (Ramp #6) located east of the MSU Union. If you will be driving to the conference each day, you can request a Parking Permit for $6 on your registration form. This covers parking during the day on Friday (the lot is free after 6pm and on Saturday). There is also parking available in City Lots north of campus. The Marriott Hotel is close enough to the Union to walk.
